"Janny McClure is an amazing young artist. Her voice is gorgeous, unique, emotional and has a wonderful, rich texture. She has a great gift for REAL melodies. I've watched her perform many times, sometimes for industry professionals, and the reactions are always overwhelmingly positive. She's definitely on her way!"—Deanna Walker, Songwriter

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Charlotte, N.C., Janny began her artistic journey with training in classical ballet with the Charlotte Youth Ballet, the North Carolina School of the Arts, and the North Carolina Dance Theater. Her singing started with "kitchen concerts" when she would imitate artists like Mary Martin, Janis Joplin, and Patsy Cline. "Dad and I would be doing the dishes, and I would start belting out 'Me and Bobby McGee' with all the blues and soul I could muster. Before long, my mother, brother, and sister would come in to see if it was really me singing."It wasn't until she auditioned for a high school choir solo that others noticed she could sing. When she finished singing her part at the concert, there was dead quiet, then spontaneous loud applause. "In that moment I knew I had the ability to move people with my voice, and I will never forget the joy I felt."
At the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Janny won an audition to join "The Loreleis", a female a capella group. "It was by far the best thing I did in college...I made numerous friends and gained a great deal of performing experience." Fortified with the confidence gained from her years as a Lorelei, Janny decided to pack her bags and march on to Nashville, Music City, where she knew absolutely no one.She spent the next two years developing and strengthening her voice with vocal coach Kim Wood Sandusky, culminating in a demo CD with five songs, four of which she had written. Janny has put a lot of effort into the development of her songwriting skills through classes at Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities and NSAI Songwriter Workshops.
Janny moved to Atlanta, GA, in 2006 where she spent 2 years performing at various venues. There, she teamed up with an incredible guitarist, Ryan Johnson.
Janny and her husband, Sam, returned to Nashville in 2008, and they welcomed an adorable son in November 2009. He looks just like his Daddy, and the couple is taking great joy in parenthood! Janny performs with longtime friend and musical talent Michelle Timmerman whenever she can.
